ANAIN-BioNavarra

ANAIN (Agencia navarra de Innovación y Tecnología S.A.) is a public enterprise created in 1999 to promote the quantitative and qualitative increase of innovation in Navarra. ANAIN serves the Region of Navarra (Spain), by promoting the qualitative and quantitative increase of innovation, to improve business competitiveness, employment creation and the service level of the Administration, thus helping to increase the well-being and quality of life of our society both now and in the future. ANAIN is working to place Navarra among the most innovative European Regions and to establish the Autonomous Community in the European Research Space. ANAIN also communicates and disseminates the benefits of innovation to the Navarra society. MAIN WORKING AREAS OF ANAIN: -R&D&I Fostering and Coordination -Technology Transfer -Promotion of European participation ( VII PM and European CIP; Participation in networks; -Promotion of bilateral relationships; Technology Transfer; Knowledge and participation in ---European networks of interest ) -Promotion of the cooperation between Science-Technology-Enterprise agents -Launching and coordination of clusters -Promotion of Sectorial Competitiveness -Strategic Watch Within these working areas ANAIN coordinates and implements the BioNavarra strategy, which it vision is: To place Navarra as one Bioregion with and international recognition by the development of one activity in biosciences that, starting by the advanced research, allows to generate an own biotechnological sector and to improve the competitivity of the already existed companies, creating a stable source of wealth and quality of life for its habitants. BioNavarra Strategy is designed to reinforce existing capabilities and strengths and eventually create new lines in 3 sectors, including environmental applications: - Health - Agrofood - Energy (Biomass and Biofuels) BioNavarra Strategy considers these challenges: - to increase its regional biotechnology activity: • development and commercialization of its own technology • attraction and maintenance of human and economic resources - revalorisation of mature sectors: • development of more added value products • new activities development Nowadays ANAIN is coordinating Euroinnova, a RPIA program (DG Regio), that is focused is Biotechnology, Renewable Energies and Nanotechnology.
