European Project Forum

One of CEBR's main objectives is to create a European platform for the delivery of projects from across Europe. The main benefit will be to allow even the smallest projects to find a Europe-wide audience.

CEBR participates actively in several projects but welcomes Members to bring their projects to the network to bring benefits to clusters everywhere and allow maximum engagement from regions. CEBR is pleased to be part of these key projects in Europe:

BioCT

This 'Regions of Knowledge' project has the objective of creating a joint action plan (JAP) in new biotechnology support services. The JAP will create a fully costed model for creation of cluster services and their delivery within a European network. It should allow emerging regions in particular, to create effective and low cost biotechnology services using a validated model.

CEBR's role is to create a platform for each activity to be delivered on a European scale, through its Special Interest Groups and international dissemination.

ABCEurope

This €3.5 million project brings together 14 of the most active clusters in Europe, both established and emerging.

Funded as part of the 2009 Competitiveness and Innovation Programme, the project has the objective of creating the best possible biotech support services in Europe, based on activities validated as effective.

The scale of the budget and excellent of the partnership means that ABCEurope will define biotechnology support in Europe.

The consortium includes: Barcelona Science Park, Bioindustry Park del Canavese (Piedmont), BioM (Munich), BioTOP (Berlin), BioValley (Alsace), BioWin (Wallonia), ERBI (Cambridge), Heidelberg Technology Park, Innova (Hungary), Matimop (Israel), Medicon Valley Alliance, Medicen (Paris), Milan Chamber of Commerce, and Stockholm Science City.

Headline activities are:

Creation of a Gold Standard internationalisation service for biotechs within clusters, with audit and training for providers
Creation of Partnerports across Europe for low cost international company operation and expansion
Entrepreneur 'Bootcamps' for first time CEOs
