Building a competitive European biotechnology sector on the world stage

CEBR celebrated its first birthday in style at the Albert Hall in Brussels with a two-day showcase. The meeting included:

• Keynote debate on how Europe can drive forward successfully
• Professor Fotis Kafatos introduced the ERC
• CEBR Members pitched projects for international development, from bringing art into a science campus, through to an international technician training course
• CEBR workshops were held in Incubation, Human capital, Open innovation, Regional policy for biotechnology, Technology maturation and a European Training Platform, each producing a long list of projects and ideas to develop in 2008.

CEBR will shortly publish the conference summary plus a full calendar of Special Interest Group meetings and projects to take forward so watch this space!
