CEBR is delighted to confirm a new Chair and Vice Chair of the Steringn Committee.
Monserrat Vendrell of Biocat was confirmed as Chair, with Frédéric Druck of BioWin taking the Vice Chair role.
Dr Monserrat Vendrell is CEO of BIOCAT and brings a strong cluster development record to her role as Chair of the CEBR Steering Committee. Prior to BIOCAT, she was Scientific Director and Deputy Director of Barcelona Science Park, leading the design and implementation of the Science Park. Today at BIOCAT, Monserrat delivers its mission to promote the development of biotech companies and research institutions, facilitating access to financing, talent and internationalisation
Monserrat commented “will allow us to strengthen relations between BioRegions in northern and southern Europe and to foster one of CEBR’s missions: to act as a platform for sharing knowledge and best practices, as well as for starting up and raising awareness of joint projects among bioclusters in order to drive competitiveness in Europe.” Moreover, for the CEO of Biocat, this appointment “is also recognition of all the work carried out in Barcelona and Catalonia to support biotechnology in recent years.”
Frédéric Druck is Director of Communication and International Relations at BioWin, the cluster promoting health biotechnology and medical technologies of Wallonia (Belgium). He applied his degree in journalism and communication to the medical sector through companies including Merck Sharp & Dohme and now leads the
communication, networking and international relations. “I like the idea of helping European regions active in heatlh biotechnologies to interconnect in order to boost medical innovation as well as the regional economy. In CEBR, we are all ambassadors of this dynamic.”
